Support and contact for Harbour Journal.

If you need help with Harbour, the fastest path is to send a clear description of what happened and your iPhone or Mac model and operating system version. Avoid sending private journal content.

Harbour for iPhone

Requires an iPhone running iOS 18 or later. No account or Mac is required for ordinary journaling.

Email iPhone support

Include your iPhone model, iOS version, Harbour version, and the steps that led to the issue. Menu → Diagnostics can prepare a report you choose to share. Review it before sending. The form below is for Mac support; iPhone customers can use email or phone directly.

HarbourLink and local-network permission

HarbourLink is optional, user-initiated sync with a compatible Harbour Journal installation on your Mac. Keep both devices on the same trusted local network, allow local-network access in iPhone Settings, and follow the Mac's pairing QR-code instructions. If pairing or discovery fails, reopen both apps, check local-network permission, VPN or firewall restrictions, and app compatibility, then retry.

An active transfer can continue briefly after you background the iPhone app, for the runtime iOS grants. Harbour does not perform periodic unattended background sync. If iOS interrupts a transfer, reopen Harbour and retry.

Audio recording and transcription

Allow microphone access when recording an audio note. Recording can continue in the background after you start it; stop it using Harbour's recording controls. Calls and audio-route changes can interrupt recording. If you denied access, enable it for Harbour in iPhone Settings.

Whisper transcription runs locally with the bundled base model; no cloud AI service or multi-gigabyte model download is required. iPhone V1 does not generate AI reflections or provide AI chat or memory processing. Those features remain in the Mac edition.

Backups, deletion, and app lock

Harbour does not provide cloud journal backup. Use iCloud Backup or a computer backup according to your iPhone backup settings. A linked Mac keeps its own synced copy; removing data from this iPhone does not remove that Mac copy or external backups. Recently Deleted keeps entry recovery copies for 30 days unless you delete them permanently sooner.

App Lock protects entry into the main app. Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets remain readable when App Lock is enabled; add them only if you want that content visible.

Privacy, analytics, and App Store purchases

Usage analytics is optional and excludes journal content. Reports use a random installation identifier, so they are not anonymous. Turn reporting off or clear pending reports in Menu → Privacy & Data. For deletion of previously uploaded reports, copy the Analytics Installation ID there and email support before turning reporting off or uninstalling.

Apple handles iPhone App Store purchases and refund requests. The Mac website's trial, license-key, and refund terms apply to the Mac product. Read the iPhone license agreement and privacy policy.

Mac support form

Send a clear note about what is going wrong and the Mac setup you are using. That gives us the best chance of reproducing the issue and responding quickly.

Human check is loading.

Support requests go straight to [email protected]. Include as much detail as you can so we can understand the problem without extra back-and-forth.

What to include in a bug report

Tell us what you were trying to do, what happened instead, and whether you can reproduce it. The more concrete the steps, the faster we can track it down.

What kind of feedback is most useful

We want to hear about moments that feel valuable, confusing, slow, or fragile. Early support messages are part of how Harbour gets better.

Helpful extras

Screenshots, exact error text, and the Mac details in this form make it much easier to understand whether something is a bug, a hardware limit, or a setup issue.

Common support topics

Harbour supports purchase help, license recovery, downloads, installation, private AI setup, Day One import, export, backups, refunds, and general app troubleshooting.

Backups and exports

If you back up your Mac with Time Machine or another full-drive backup tool, Harbour is backed up with it. You can also export your journal into a folder and keep that export anywhere you want.

System requirements help

If you are unsure which experience tier your Mac falls into, check the system requirements on the homepage and include your Mac details in your message. That helps us answer more clearly and spot hardware-related issues faster.
